The Provocateur – ADÉLA: The Industry’s Next Pink Pop Sensation

About the artist: Adéla Jergová is an emerging multitalented Slovak singer, songwriter, and dancer. After her elimination on the competitive Netflix series Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE, she took full creative control of her art to deliver a sound like none other. It felt like fate that ADÉLA didn’t end up in the final girl group formed on the show, as she is undoubtedly about to become a huge solo artist in the industry.

About the album: The Provocateur is ADÉLA’s debut extended play, released on August 22nd, 2025, through Capitol Records and Polydor Records.

Reviews:

Album cover: I LOVEEE this album cover, wow. Something about ADÉLA being pictured urinating like a man while wearing heels and pink hair really speaks to me. This cover is both fun and empowering at the same time.

I give this cover my very first 10/10! I really love it.

Songs:

Superscar: This may be the best opening song to an EP I’ve ever heard. This song is very upbeat, which I personally love, and ADÉLA’s voice is just incredible. The production on this song takes it a level further, too.

I can’t even fully describe it. Just go give it a listen for yourself, because this song is a 10/10 for me.

SexOnTheBeat: The opening of this song definitely caught me off guard when I first listened to it. This song is different from what I usually listen to, but it’s incredible. I love the production on this song too, especially during the chorus.

This type of song is what makes ADÉLA stand out from other pop artists to me. I give “SexOnTheBeat” a 9/10.

MachineGirl: I love the production of this song too, and I especially love the use of voice effects. This song covers themes of confrontation and resilience, which fits perfectly in my opinion with how the song sounds. ADÉLA literally dances to the beat of her own drum, and I love that for her.

I especially love the outro to this song, it’s really fun and makes you want to get up and dance! This one is an 8/10 for me.

Homewrecked: When I found out this song was written and recorded in just ONE day, I was shocked. The lyrics of this song cut deep, and the vocals are just incredible. This song not only tells a story, but once again, the production is great as well.

This song summarizes everything I want when listening to music: good vocals, good production, and good songwriting. Escpecially in the last chorus of this song, ADÉLA’s voice is just undeniably beautiful. I give “Homewrecked” a 9/10.

Go: This song is the exact level of “loud” that I look for in music. Now THIS is what I want to be hearing bumping at the clubs, the production on this song is perfect. Considering ADÉLA is a ballerina on top of a musician, this is not the type of song you’d expect from her before listening to this EP.

This song may not be as lyrically advanced as some of her others, but it’s just so FUN! “Go” gets a 9/10!

DeathByDevotion: This song is an anthem dedicated to the hard work ADÉLA has put into her music and dance, and the obsessive dedication she’s put into her art forms. I think anyone who’s had really intense, deep passions will relate to this song. This one isn’t my top favorite on the EP, but I still enjoy listening to it and think it’s a fantastic track.

I think the production is great once again, and I appreciate the songwriting of this one as well. I give this one an 8/10.

FinallyApologizing: I love everything about this song. I actually first heard this song in the TV series I Love LA, and knew I had to hear more. The production is so fun, and I love the lyrics of this one.

This song is about not conforming to others’ expectations, and addresses parasocial relationships between influential figures and their audiences. Though I know this song is more about ADÉLA’s personal experiences with the industry so far, I think any teen or young adult woman can relate to the lyrics as well. We know how drama and rumors can spread rapidly, creating a false narrative.

This song is totally something I’d want to dance to as well, and on top of that, the lyrics are relatable. This song is a great one to wrap up this EP. I give “FinallyApologizing” a 9/10.

OVERALL RATING: 8.8/10

I think this EP has been my favorite listen so far. ADÉLA’s artistry is truly something else; she’s such a talented singer, songwriter, and performer. This EP was such an incredible debut release, and I really can’t wait to see where her career goes from here.

I can already tell she is going to be huge.
