COUNTDOWN TO COACHELLA: Happy Coachella weekend! This is the final review of my Coachella countdown! Whose set are you looking forward to seeing the most?
About the artist: Sabrina Carpenter is an American singer, songwriter, and actress who first gained recognition for her role as Maya Hart on Disney’s Girl Meets World. Now, as a “short n sweet” star, she’s using her height to her advantage to market herself as pop’s petite princess!
About the album: Man’s Best Friend is Sabrina Carpenter’s seventh studio album, released on August 29, 2025, through Island Records.
Reviews:
Album cover: Now, this cover caused a lot of controversy online. However, I kind of like how it feels like Sabrina is holding the power despite being on her knees, especially since the man’s identity is hidden. I also think it works well with the title of the album.
I give it an 8/10!
Songs:
Manchild: I think this song is perfect to open this album! It has that signature Sabrina sound, all while perfectly fitting the theme of this album. This is such a cute, sometimes relatable song.
This was a great choice for a first track. This is a 10/10.
Tears: This is such a fun, danceable song. I also love how the title implies one thing, while the lyrics mean something completely different, if you know what I mean. This is one I’ve heard previously across social media, and it’s clear why!
I also love how this song discusses how, to many women, responsibility is sexier than anything. This song is so enjoyable, and exactly what I love in a pop song! “Tears” is a 10/10!
My Man on Willpower:This song uses humor to discuss the challenges that come with blossoming love. I really love the instrumentals of this one, and how Sabrina layers her vocals. This one is unique yet works so well with the other tracks!
This one is a 9/10 from me!
Sugar Talking: This song brings a slightly slower pace to this album, a change from the previous tracks that have been more upbeat. The guitar and the instrumentals are great in this one too, and Sabrina’s vocals are so clear and perfectly executed.
The lyrics are about men sweet-talking to get their way, and they’re perfectly done in Sabrina’s style. This one is a 9/10!
We Almost Broke Up Again Last Night: This song is about a relationship that is in a constant cycle of nearly breaking up, but making up again over and over. This is another song that can be relatable for so many. I also love how Sabrina sings some higher notes in this song, she’s so talented.
I enjoy this one! It’s an 8/10.
Nobody’s Son: This song is a humorous one, taking a jab at her ex’s mothers. I love the country feel to this one, and the instrumentals feel almost 80’s to me! This is another cute song, I give it a 9/10!
Never Getting Laid: This song has a bit of a jazzy vibe, something slightly different from the previous tracks. Instrumentally, this song stands out beautifully from the others, but the lyrics fit the album’s theme. I love the slightly different sound that this one has.
I give “Never Getting Laid” an 8/10.
When Did You Get Hot?: I’ve also heard this one across social media! To be completely honest, I think it’s a cute, funny little song, but it’s not as much my personal taste. However, I thill think it’s a great addition to this album, and it fits the theme nicely!
This one is a 7/10 for me.
Go Go Juice: This is another one that has some humor and also some relatability to it. I love how the song is softer at times, but picks up. This one also has a bit of a country vibe to it, I love how she mixes the genres to make a sound that is so her.
This is another great, girly one. 10/10!
Don’t Worry I’ll Make You Worry: This one immediately has beautiful instrumentals, it’s almost dreamy. This song implies the idea of keeping someone guessing; you’ll never know Sabrina’s next move. This is just a really pleasant one to listen to, and the lyrics will give you a little giggle.
I give this one a 9/10!
House Tour: This song is sooo girly, I love it. From the instrumentals, to the double meanings, to the lyrics such as “my house is on Pretty Girl Avenue.” This is such a perfect, fun, cute song.
This is the perfect song to listen to while getting ready with the girls. 10/10.
Goodbye: Obviously, this is a great title for the last song on this album. In this song, Sabrina is saying goodbye to someone, forever, choosing herself to walk out. This is a bit of a funny song about being fed up with someone.
I think we can all relate to this song somehow, whether it be with romantic relationships, friendships, or more. I think this is a perfect song to close the album, and not just because of the title. “Goodbye” is a 10/10!
OVERALL RATING: 9/10
This is SUCH a fun, girly, pop album with a theme. This is the exact type of album I want to be reviewing on this website. I really enjoyed listening to this; it was danceable, silly, adorable, and relatable all at once.
