Reviews:
Album cover: I think this cover is so sick. The outfit is incredible, and the way Jane’s holding the sword in flames looks so awesome. I love it when album covers feature the artist, especially when they look as cool as this.
This cover is a 10/10. Perfect vibe.
Songs:
TWICE REMOVED: Immediately, I love the use of voice effects in this song! I also love how you can hear the Pokémon, Palkia, in the background. I love the nostalgic, cyber-feel of this one.
I also think the lyrics are fun! This track is an 8/10!
Psychoboost: I can’t explain it, but this track fits the title perfectly. I also think the feature on this song from Danny Brown fits in nicely. This is a song I’d totally go crazy for if I heard it in a club!
“Psychoboost” is a 9/10!
Star people: This song combines two entirely different vibes, one being super loud and upbeat, transitioning into a sound that’s more melodic with the incorporation of guitar. This song definitely takes the listener on a journey, and it’s so cool. This track is a 9/10!
Experimental Skin: I think the arcade-like sounds in this song are super fun. This one is chaotic, loud, and so danceable. I really like the vibe of this one, 8/10!
angels in camo: This song combines religious imagery with defiance. This is another song that has such a fun sound! The only downside I’d say is that, so far, I haven’t heard too much variety in sound, everything almost seems to blend together.
I liked this one, I just wish it sounded a little different from what I’ve previously heard on this album! I give it a 7/10, I still really like it.
Dreamflasher: I think by now, every song has opened with a glass-breaking sound effect in the background. I do really like the sound of this one, though; it really fits the vibe of the album. I think a lot of the sound effects are random, but it really adds charm for me.
I like how fun this one is, and how it shows a lot of character. I’ll give this a 9/10, it’s my favorite so far.
TURN UP OR DIE: The beat of this song is hypnotizing. This track is so intense, with less focus on lyrics, and I love the production. This is such an exciting track, I really enjoy this one!
I’ll give “TURN UP OR DIE” a 10/10!
Dancing with your eyes closed: I like how this one has slightly softer, slower areas, then picks up the pace. I really love how the production is done on this one. I’ll give it an 8/10!
Fadeoutz: I really enjoy how this song touches on personal vulnerability, making it stand out from the other tracks on this album. The slightly softer guitar and vocal melodies give it a bit of a different vibe, but overall, this track still fits perfectly on this album. I really like the different sound this song has compared to the others!
I also love how Jane Remover explores these themes, all while still making a song that you’d crank up in the car. This one is a 9/10!
Professional Vengeance: I always love a fun little voice clip to begin a song. I really enjoy how it’s done in this song. This song is so catchy, a bit less intense, and still really fun.
This one might have my favorite production so far, as it’s not too intense, but still gets your blood pumping. I give “Professional Vengeance” a 10/10!
Dark night castle: The use of video game sound effects all across this album are like I’ve never heard before, and I love it. This is another slower song, but it still includes those sound effects that make this song fit Jane Remover’s vibe perfectly. I’ll give this track an 8/10!
JRJRJR: This song touches on self-discovery and reinvention, and does it in such an exciting way. This song begins almost immediately blasting in your ears, which I love! This song feels especially modern, and is such a great form of self-expression.
This closing track is a 9/10!
OVERALL RATING: 8.7/10
This album was SO fun to listen to, especially as someone who really appreciates loud music with outstanding production. My only comment would be that every song sounds very similar to one another, so I would’ve just loved some more variety. But, overall, I really enjoyed giving this album a listen, and I will definitely be listening again!
